Contemplata aliis Tradere

A meagre contribution to the mission and work of the Order of Preachers: my reflections, thoughts, ideas and the occasional rant on matters mainly theological, philosophical and ecclesiastical, drawn primarily from my reading and experience of life and the world. Striving to be always Catholic, firmly Christian and essentially Dominican, flavoured with dashes of Von Balthasar.

The Catholic Blog Awards 2006

It's the season for awards... Golden Globes, BAFTAs, the Oscars and now even 'The Catholic Blog Awards'! I was a little wary about this kind of 'competition'... after all, I truly see this blog as an apostolate and labour of love... But I suppose the same can be said of art movies and this does not prevent some truly magnificent art movies from being nominated for Oscars this year...

And then, I noticed my OP sisters at MonialesOP had put up a post about the awards and I figured that if they can do it then there's no harm in alerting readers to the fact that the Nominations for Catholic Blogs are now up for grabs and so, I would encourage you to nominate your favourite blogs. I suppose it's also an act of charity to confirm one another in the work we are doing to add a Catholic voice to the blogosphere.

And indeed, I was pleasantly surprised when Julie at Happy Catholic notified me that she'd nominated this site in the 'Best Blog by a Seminarian' category; a kind and charitable move on her part, I think, as the (alternative and more obvious) 'Priests/Religious' category is already full of such excellent candidates, thus making the running that much harder!

Anyway, you have until 3 February to Nominate someone so do get to it soon if you don't want to miss out and have your say...

And after that, check out the Nominations and start voting from 7 February!

But first click here to Nominate your favourite blogs. It's one way to encourage a fellow Catholic in this media apostolate and hobby!

Seminarian? Are novices considered seminarians?
I still think you've got the most devout blog....

Thank you both.

Novices are not seminarians, strictly speaking, but we are considered in the Province to be "clerical students"...
